A fundraising event supporting patient access to health care, the Patient Advocate Foundation held its seventh annual "Promise of Hope Affair" February 23, 2008 at the Newport News Marriott at City Center. Music was performed by "Slapwater" as our guests celebrated an evening of dinner, dancing, and a silent & live auction. This annual black tie optional gala provides financial support to our direct patient services to help patients obtain access to quality healthcare.
This was our most successful gala to date. Highlights this year included a raffle and an auction to purchase scholarships for PAF's Scholarships for Survivors program. A signed Montgomery Gentry started the live auction which was followed by "Ladies on the Beach," a painting by Inga Charlotte Doerp. AirTran Airways tickets, jewelry by Charles Albert, a Las Vegas time share, a spa package donated by Animare Salon & Spa and Bella Fine Lingerie and Loungewear were also offered. Auction paddles flew up in the air during the auction for the Washington Redskins tickets donated by a member of King & Spaulding, LLP, and an autographed Kurt Busch leather jacket from Roush Fenway Racing completed the live auction.
