Patient Advocate Foundation (PAF) Receives Second Consecutive 4-Star Rating From Nation's Largest Independent Charity Evaluator
Hampton, VA (October 3, 2011) –Patient Advocate Foundation (PAF) – a national non-profit organization that seeks to safeguard patients through effective mediation assuring access to care, maintenance of employment and preservation of their financial stability relative to their diagnosis of life threatening or debilitating diseases – this week received Charity Navigator's second consecutive 4-star rating for sound fiscal management and commitment to accountability and transparency.
Charity Navigator, America's largest independent charity evaluator, works to advance a more efficient and responsive philanthropic marketplace by evaluating the financial health, accountability and transparency of over 5,500 of America's largest charities. Only fourteen percent (14%) of the charities rated by Charity Navigator have received at least two consecutive 4-star evaluations, and one-fifth of the charities listed received a 4-star rating this year, indicating that PAF out-performs most other charities in America.
"On behalf of Charity Navigator, I wish to congratulate Patient Advocate Foundation on achieving our coveted 4-star rating for sound fiscal management and commitment to accountability and transparency," said Ken Berger, President/Chief Executive Officer of Charity Navigator, in a letter to PAF.
"This "exceptional" designation from Charity Navigator differentiates Patient Advocate Foundation from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust."
"Patient Advocate Foundation is honored and proud to receive this rating for the second year in a row from Charity Navigator because it demonstrates the care with which we manage donations to put the healthcare needs of the Americans who reach out to us first," said Nancy Davenport-Ennis, President and CEO of PAF. "Since its inception in 1996, PAF has helped Americans efficiently access the quality healthcare they deserve. Those who are interested in donating can do so knowing that PAF is an organization that is effective, ethical, and fiscally responsible."
