PAF’s Co-Pay Relief Program now offers financial assistance for patients with Metastatic Gastric Cancer

November 22, 2013 – Patient Advocate Foundation (PAF) announced today the launch of a new Metastatic Gastric Cancer disease silo within its Co-Pay Relief (CPR) program for qualified patients. This new fund will provide direct financial support for expenses related to pharmaceutical co-payments incurred by insured patients, including those covered by Medicare and/or Medicaid.

“Through our extensive experience assisting patients with chronic and life threatening diseases every day, we know that the management and treatment of metastatic gastric cancer can place significant strain on a family’s budget. We are grateful for the generous donation that will now allow us to expand our Co-Pay Relief Program and provide financial assistance to these patients,” said Beth Patterson, President, Mission Delivery of PAF. “When chemotherapy medications are recommended by physicians, a patient’s survival can be jeopardized if they are unable to access the prescribed pharmaceuticals. This financial assistance will ensure better access to the treatments that can restore balance and markedly improve the quality of life for patients suffering with metastatic gastric cancer.”

Since PAF’s Co-Pay Relief program was founded in 2004, it has provided more than $190 million in financial assistance to more than 95,000 patients who would have been otherwise unable to afford their pharmaceutical co-payments. The program provides this support to insured patients who financially and medically qualify. Approved gastric cancer patients may receive up to $7,500 in assistance per year for copayment needs directly related to their pharmaceutical therapies.
